ABOUT THE PALM TREE TYPE
I have spent the last two decades working at the intersection of story and strategy, helping brands craft resilient and resonant narratives rooted in their distinct offerings.
My career began in the fast-paced, globally focused settings of Burson-Marsteller (now BCW Global) and Edelman before transitioning “in-house” to oversee communications programs for the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa and Visit Pensacola. I then went on to spend more than five years “agency-side,” leading public relations efforts on behalf of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association, Visit Virginia Beach, Virginia Tourism Corporation and Visit Alexandria.
My experiences have spanned crisis communications management during the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill (and now, a global pandemic) to leading media missions in Atlanta, Birmingham, Dallas and New York City and hosting culinary media experiences at the James Beard House.
In 2019, I formed The Palm Tree Type on the belief that “PR,” as we once knew it, is no longer enough. Today’s most effective communication tactics require a creative blend of strategy, relevancy and intimacy in order to withstand the changing media landscape. It’s not about joining the conversation but about contributing to it and doing so in the manner only your brand can. My approach isn’t about volume but resonance. I bring both an editor’s eye and a strategist’s mindset to every project, ensuring that your message doesn’t just reach an audience but actually stays with them.
